ELDER FamilyFinder ordered for MAINE DNA

On December 1st, 2010,
I received the announcement for a new Holiday discount price for
FamilyTreeDNA FamilyFinder, from $289 down to $229, with an
order link posted on all of our Personal Pages in the left column menu,
listed as a "Special Offers" SALE through December.

So a MAINE DNA kit for #20923 FamilyFinder
was ordered on Dec. 1st, 2010, and if all
goes well to be reported before February!
See MAINE ELDER DNA webpage and links

Recently I have been having luck with my own FamilyFinder,
showing some Kentucky cousins, connecting with
Robert ELDER, b. 1760 of York Co PA, who died in KY.
A few of the "other surnames" have Scotland locations,
but I haven't discovered their connections.... yet.
Others are French-Canadians, connected to my g-grandmother TREMBLAY
and gg-grandmother DROUILLARD.

One technique which works sometimes:
Using Google to search for the cousin's posted e-mail, finds queries and
genealogy webpages, to discover more connections.

Let me know if "Other surname" cousins have been found.

Ordering FamilyFinder test for myself today

Today I ordered a FamilyFinder test for myself.
I already have an mtDNA kit #48943 stored in the FamilyTreeDNA lab.
I sure hope they will discover some cousins I can recognize.
I do wonder if my brother's kit would be better for FamilyFinder, but
I'll try it with my kit, anyway, as paternal cousins are
supposed to be revealed in FamilyFinder, for both genders.
Always hoping for new discoveries!

To Click Directly on the ELDER DNA webpage

Hi folks,
Today I'm trying out the HTML links on these new DNA Blog post options.
I hope this message will show a clickable link which goes directly to my
original ELDER DNA webpage, with Y-RESULT CHARTS, lots of links to
other ELDER webpages, such as
showing descriptions of our participation in Scotland DNA charts, as well as
our brief ancestor lists (choose GOALS menu) and other archives of ELDER information.
It's great to have more ways to share our information.
E-mail me anytime!

New DNA reports for "Family Finder" matches

Hi folks,
I've been reviewing our ELDER Y-DNA administrative reports,
discovering that a note has been added when someone has matched
our Y-DNA with the new "Family Finder" tests!
I was very surprised to see these on several lines of ELDER, but not
my brother's page yet.
So far, I have developed a small list of names and e-mails
for each personal page where this new note occurs.
E-mail me anytime!
